It's a pretty massive place and you might be lost on what to do. This walkthrough aims to help for purely story progression. The recommended level for this dungeon is around 16 at this point. If you wish to view the walkthrough for previous eraMegaten versions, please refer to an old page from the View History tab.

The Start

For now, the focus is to just explore and meet the NPCs. Wander around and use Search when above them to interact. The purple ! are indicators for special NPCs. There is one in the top-right where you will fight a gang of zombies regardless of choice. Defeat them and this will trigger the first step towards advancing the Shinjuku plotline. There is another ! in the middle of the Shinjuku - North. Head south and there will be two exclamation point NPCs on the west side. The order of visiting them does not matter. Head back north, and there will be an ! on the bottom left. Head over there, and there will be a mini boss-fight, and this will progress the Shinjuku plotline. You will now be able to re-visit the !, Haru, in Shinjuku-South and the !, Messian solicitor, in Shinjuku-North. From here, the routes will diverge. These are mutually exclusive and will reward different characters and have different plot lines.


Naoya Route

This will put you on the Chaos-aligned Route. Head over to Haru and attend her concert. Progress through the dialogue and you will be prompted with a choice. You will then proceed to the boss, Beldr. Throughout the fight, you may notice that your attacks are not having any effect. This is fine, continue and hold out until the next event occurs to progress. The final choices determine whether or not you enslave Haru or not. This is the only time to do so for Naoya's route, so it's up to the player whether they care for another character or not. You are then told to visit the Church of Gaea in Shinjuku - South. Head to the stairs on the bottom right, and there will be a !. Head to the building on the left of the Gaean Church to find Ozawa. Make sure to talk to all the NPCs in the building. On 2F, there will be an Oni talking about a porn actor debut. Regardless of choice, this is a key part towards allowing you to meet Ozawa. If all NPCs have been met, you can meet Ozawa. If you missed any, here is the list of notable NPCs.

  • Girl with Red Hair (Yakuza Building 1F, vanishes if Oni is defeated before speaking to her)
  • Oni (Yakuza Building 2F)
  • Middle-Aged Man (Yakuza Building 2F, vanishes if Oni is defeated before speaking to him)
  • Sex Shop Worker (Shinjuku - North, open only at night. Can make up for an NPC you may have skipped or add an additional point toward the Ozawa score

Once you meet Ozawa, be ready for a boss fight. Defeat him, and he'll give you a Black Indulgence that lets you into the Church. However if you head back to Shinjuku - North, there will be a new ! NPC to speak with. It is the same red-haired girl you met earlier in the Yakuza Building.

You can now directly to the Messian Church. The priest will let you in, and in the room to the right, there will be a !. Head over and you will be given two choices. Each will lead to a different boss fight. Win, and you will be congratulated by Naoya. You will then receive the BaBel Software and receive Rise Kujikawa. If the above steps have been followed, she will no longer have the [Non-Combatant] status, but is unable to participate in combat as she lacks a fall state. You know what to do with her right?

(After meeting Ozawa and getting the Black Indulgence: As Non-Combatant Rise with Persona potential: Head straight for the Cathedral and go to the right room - do not talk to Rise via the '!' icon on the northern part of the map As a Persona User Rise (non-cooperative): Speak with Rise in the northern part of the map before going to the Cathedral and entering the room to the right As Shadow Rise: Speak with Rise in the northern part of the map before going to the Cathedral and entering the room to the right; during the fight with her, TALK to her and convince her to join you (like a normal demon negotiation) As Persona User Rise (combatant): DO NOT get Rise in Shinjuku by not going to the room to the right in the Cathedral (or leaving her there), and later when you do the [38] Watchtower Assault request (part of Yamaitaka Liberation, aka the Himemiya Kikue questline), in the final fight with the Hypnotic Machine, defeat the boss without destroying the Hypnotic Machine and you can rescue a virgin Rise slut with bigger boobs, a load of sexual experience and enough Abnormal EXP that makes it impossible for her to get anything but Lewd fall)

Immortal (Naoya Route) Recommended Lvl: 30

Prerequisites: Cannot be on the Lily Flower route during this run, cannot be aligned with Law. Light alignment may not allow this Request to appear either.

Accept the new Request from Naoya, and head over to Shinjuku. There will be a ! on the left side of Shinjuku - South. Head over there and you will be prompted on whether to save her or not. If you choose to save her, you will be forced into a fight with Beldr. Defeat the other enemies around him, and you will be able to escape. You will now be continuously harassed by Beldr and his demons, and escape is possible with the same method as before. Do NOT leave this dungeon at any point during this whole questline. Proceed to the Church where Naoya resides and he will tell you Beldr's weakness. As if on cue, Beldr shows up and you must ward him off again. Head over to Shinjuku - North and get to the new !. Beldr's weakness will now be given to you, which only the main character can use. Once defeated, you can now head back to the Church of Gaea and meet with Naoya. Progress through the dialogue and you are given the choice on whether you want to recruit Yuzu and Atsuro, as well as the Invitation to the Daimakyuu Request.

Lily Flower Route

This will put you on the Law-aligned Route. Head over to the Messian solicitor and attend their sermon. Progress through the dialogue and you will be prompted with a choice. You will then proceed to the boss, Beldr. Throughout the fight, you may notice that your attacks are not having any effect. This is fine, continue and hold out until the next event occurs to progress. You will be told to visit Naoya, however, instead there will be a ! near the Messian Church down on Shinjuku - South. Head over there, and agree to the robed individual's proposition. Follow their directions to the building in Shinjuku - North. Meet with the person inside the Lily Community Office, and you will be given a Wooden Indulgence. Now head to the building to the west of the Messian Church where you last talked to the robed individual to find Ozawa. Make sure to talk to all the NPCs in the building. On 2F, there will be an Oni talking about a porn actor debut. Regardless of choice, this is a key part of allowing you to meet Ozawa. If all NPCs have been met, you can meet Ozawa. If you missed any, here is the list of notable NPCs.

Once you meet Ozawa, be ready for a boss fight. Defeat him, and he'll give you a Black Indulgence that lets you into the Church. Once you leave the building, you will notice ! around the area. If you want an easier time preparing Rise Kujikawa for combat, read the following bullet points. If not, skip this section.

  • Do NOT step on the ! yet.
  • If you head back to Shinjuku - North, there will be a new ! NPC to speak with. It is the same red-haired girl you met earlier in the Yakuza Building.
  • Speak to her and she will mention how disgusting the world is.
  • This minor event determines whether or not Rise will be ready for combat once she achieves a Fall State.
  • Otherwise, the Basic Training Special command in [100] Train is required.

Step on the !, and you will be asked to investigate the Church at night. Accept to continue to the Shinjuku plotline. You can now head back home and wait.

Go directly to the Messian Church. The priest will let you in, and in the room to the right, there will be a !. Head over and you will be given two choices. Each will lead to a different boss fight. Immortal (Lily Flower Route) Recommended Lvl: 30

Prerequisites: Cannot be on Naoya's route this run.

Accept the new Request from the Lily Community Bureau, and head over to Shinjuku. There will be a ! in the center of Shinjuku - North. Head over there and you will be prompted on whether to save him or not. If you choose to save him, you will be forced into a fight with Beldr. Defeat the other enemies around him, and you will be able to escape. It is then possible to 'enslave' the man you just saved and retrieve a demon from them or bring them to safety. You will now be continuously harassed by Beldr and his demons, and escape is possible with the same method as before. Do NOT leave this dungeon at any point during this whole questline. Proceed to the Lily Community Bureau where you will meet the hat-wearing boy again. Beldr will then attack, and the hat-wearing boy directs you towards the Messian Church where you last stopped the ritual. Head over to the Church and step on the !. You will be given Beldr's weakness to put him down once and for all. After defeating Beldr, you will receive the Burning Flower Request.
